WTF Sidebar

I grew up in and around Seattle. Spent many summers hanging out at drive-in theaters. Many summers spent in Ocean Shores. My grandpa was mayor of that little town for several years. On the weekends, in the day, those empty drive-in theaters transformed into swap meets. Remember those stupid fold-up sunglasses with the Porsche logo on the edge? I was the first kid in junior high to have a pair. Remember those crappy butterfly knives that always pinched your skin? Yup. I got mine at the swap meets. My beautiful elderly grandparents would drive me into "town" (Aberdeen, Washington) to the Wishkah mall to buy me my school clothes. I was pretty damn lucky, because they would buy me Levi's and stuff my mom couldn't afford. We were eating lunch in some cafe in the mall, a strange old man started yammering to me about reincarnation or some such thing. My grandparents were disgusted. I was fascinated.
